Born in France, fell in love with the earth of Bizen.
Blending two cultures in the palm of my hands,
I fire my own vision of beauty.
A Story of Two Worlds
Bonjour! My name is Bizeny Akiko. I was born in Paris to a French father and a Japanese mother.
As a child, I loved the stories of Japan my mother told me. I was captivated by the world of wabi-sabi, and always dreamed of one day touching the "earth" of Japan.
One day, I encountered a Bizen pottery vase in a museum. No glaze — just earth and flame. Its rustic yet powerful beauty captured my heart completely.
Now I train in Bizen City, searching for my own style that fuses French sensibility with Bizen tradition. I'm also working hard every day to express myself in beautiful Japanese. …It's not easy, though.
The Beauty of Bizen Ware
With over a thousand years of history, Bizen ware is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns.
Using no glaze at all, each piece is born solely from the dialogue between earth and flame.
A rustic finish without any glaze. The raw expression of the clay creates a unique landscape on every piece. The more you use it, the deeper its character becomes.
Flames exceeding 1200°C embrace the pottery for two weeks. The paths of ash and fire paint patterns called hidasuki and goma — natural art that can never be replicated.
Bizen pottery changes its expression with every cup of tea poured, every flower arranged. It ages alongside its owner, becoming a vessel that is uniquely yours.

Web3 for Traditional Pottery
We want to bring the value of Bizen pottery to more people. That wish gave birth to BizenDAO.
A digital certificate, like a traditional "hakogaki," for every piece. Exhibition records, tea ceremony memories, gifts for loved ones — the time spent with Bizen pottery is inscribed on the blockchain.
Potters and fans connect directly through social media and events. This is the new form of pottery culture in the web3 era.
"La beaute est dans l'imperfection."
— Beauty lies in imperfection.
